Not
ordinary suburbs.
Florence is famous for its astonishing variety
of art works, for its history and its culture. But don’t forget
that Florence is Tuscany’s main city, and we all know what
Tuscany is all about: countryside.
So if you’d like to have a walk on those beautiful fields,
under the cypresses, but without losing the facilities and the comforts
of urban life, an accommodation
in Florence or nearby will probably suit you better than any
villa in the middle of the Chianti
area, just to make an example.
This happens because Florence is not surrounded by the ordinary
kind of suburbs, made of steel and poor in charm: it’s surrounded
by lovely hills and small rural villages, perfect destinations for
a sightseeing day out of the busy city streets.
Jewels such as San Miniato or Fiesole
are easily reachable by foot from the very centre of the city and
these are only two of the dozen possible routes to carry you away
from the city centre. You will be amazed to discover how fast and
easily the city turns into country during your walks. You will also
be able to enjoy some breathtaking hidden gardens of some to-die-for
villas, spread all over the hills.
If you prefer to wake up directly in the countryside instead, and
only later decide to dig in the urban life, you can do that by choosing
your Florence
hotel room directly in one of the pleasant suburbia. There are
plenty of comfortable relais and typical Tuscany
farmhouses in which you could experience the perfect quiet for
a truly relaxing holiday.
